Get Involved
Anyone can take part in the week, and there are a number of ways to get involved!
Stay up to date
Sign up to receive our newsletter (out 17th May) to to get first-hand information on our activities for the week!
Social Media
Throughout the week we will be communicating through our social media channels
Please join the conversation and use the hashtag #SaltAwarenessWeek so that we can see your posts!
From sliced bread to biscuits, Friday night takeaways to ‘healthy’ salads, everything has added salt. In fact, three quarters of the salt we eat is already in the foods we buy, and it’s impossible to take it out once it’s been added in.
Join us as we call on food companies to #DitchtheSalt for the sake of our hearts.
Let food companies know that we need less salt and tag us in your messages so that we can support you.
Get writing
- Write to your preferred supermarket or food company and ask them to reduce salt in their food
- Support our campaign by writing a Letter to your MP [DOC 33KB] and ask them what they are doing to encourage companies to use less salt - you can find out your MP's email address here
- Give feedback! Companies love to know what you think of their food, and are always looking to improve it. If you find food from your local takeaway or favourite restaurant too salty, then let them know
